Bethlehem and more! ~Chris Wood

Wow, today was amazing! We began the day going to Bethlehem. We went to the Basilica of the Nativity. This is where Jesus was born! We all got to touch the ground Jesus was born on. It is so interesting to understand the true meaning of "inn." The proper translation is closer to family room. So Jesus was born in the basement because there was no room in the family room. Wow totally new outlook on that!

From there we went to the Jordan River. We were not allowed to leave the bus because it is a military zone.

From there we went to Nazareth. We went into an amazing, huge church that stood over the original site of Nazareth. This may have been where Jesus was raised. I was able to sit down on the bottom floor of this two story church and listen to the mass being celebrated in Spanish. It brought tears to my eyes - the Holy Spirit was definitely present. Awesome!

After the church we shopped and the came to the Sea of Galilee. This is an amazingly beautiful hotel. We swam in the sea today it was a little "cold" but all got in. Can you believe we swam in the sea Jesus walked on?
