The Western Wall....

...also known as the Weeping Wall.  This is one of the most sacred places for Jews to come and pray and tuck a written petition between the stones.  The wall has a partition where men and women approaching the wall are separated.  Men often bring their sons here for their bar mitzvah ceremony and as the men crowd around the 13 year old boy, their moms and sisters are standing on white, plastic chairs to catch a glimpse to their son or brother, as he participates in this religious ceremony ushering him into manhood (picture 5).  You also see young Israeli soldiers, boys and girls, with guns slung over their shoulders.  All Israeli youths have to serve at least two years.  This sacred place is well guarded.

Sometimes these soldiers get in big circles to dance and sing and bring visitors in.
