Day Seven

The pilgrimage is now moving into Jesus' life from the beginning and Monday began with a challenging hike down Mount Arbel.  There might be some sore knees today!  All reports are that it was gorgeous and quite meaningful to the men.

Edward's photos from the hike and a video from Terry:

Looks like the perfect Israeli picnic.

First stop was Sepphoris:

This stop at an archaeological sight near Nazareth begs the quhttps://www.bibleplaces.com/sepphoris/estions: Did the young Jesus visit here? Did Jesus see a performance in this theater?

'Josephus called Sepphoris “the ornament of all Galilee.” Herod Antipas chose this site in 4 BC. as the capital of his government. He most likely built the theater as well. Josephus said Sepphoris was the largest city in Galilee and an exceptionally strong fortress at the time of the First Revolt in 66 AD. The people of Sepphoris supported Vespasian in the Jewish Revolt, surrendering to the Romans and thus preventing the destruction of the city (WarIII.2.4). They even minted coins in honor of Vespasian as the “peace maker.”'

Monday night was the first of three nights spent at the Mount of Beatitudes Guest House:

(ed. note: I'm not 100% sure this is the place because I haven't stayed here but I think it is :)
