What an exciting afternoon! Nine men left Church of the Redeemer at 2:30: Father Fred Robinson, Jay Crouse - trip coordinator and Pilgrim leader, William Crouse (our 22-year-old son), Chris Wood (Redeemer's youth leader), Peter Gray, Tommy Williams, Pat Fitzgerald, Harold Freeman and Joe Carlton. We picked up Father Jim Hedman, literally on the side of the road in Bradenton! The airport check-in went without a hitch and the guys should be touching down in Atlanta very soon. There, they will meet up with the midwestern continfent, Pete Mogavero from Indiana and MArk Sanders from Illinois. From Atlanta, they will head out for Tel Aviv. Dan Searby and Philip Crouse (our 27-year-old son) will leave New York at midnight and George Williams will arrive in Tel Aviv from Canada via London. Pray they all meet up just right!
A friend of Jay's sent the following prayer that I thought you might like to be praying as well:
I pray God’s blessings all around for the men heading to Israel. I pray a rich journey for all of them, a more intimate awareness of God's voice, and renewal of spirit, including expectancy for all God is now moving each Pilgrim into. I pray for open hearts, eyes, ears and minds for the men. I pray that God will reveal himself beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. I pray safe travel and safekeeping for the group throughout their journey. In the name of our dear saviour, Jesus Christ, AMEN
I hope all the men will feel free to contribute their thoughts/feelings/experiences here on the blog for all of us to share in this grand adventure. I will keep you updated with what they are up to and what Jay tells me specifically.
God bless all of you at home too!!
~Laura Crouse
